Complete in Thee each want supplied,
And no good thing to me denied;
Since Thou my portion, Lord, wilt be,
I ask no more, complete in Thee.

Complete In Thee

lyrics by Aaron Roberts Wolfe & James Maritn Gray

Complete in Thee! No work of mine
May take, dear Lord, the place of Thine;
Thy blood hath pardon bought for me,
And I shall stand complete in Thee.

Yea, Justified! O blessed thought!
And sanctified! Salvation wrought!
Thy blood hath pardon bought for me,
And glorified, I too, shall be!

Complete in Thee! No more shall sin,
The grace hath conquered, reign within;
Thy voice shall bid the tempter flee,
And I shall stand complete in Thee.

Complete in Thee each want supplied,
And no good thing to me denied;
Since Thou my portion, Lord, wilt be,
I ask no more, complete in Thee.

There is something amazing about simply reading the lyrics of old hymns. no melody to follow, no accompaniment to distract, no harmonies to tune. simply words. They are by no means as important or as powerful as the Word of the Lord. but there are days when scriptures i have had memorized since i was a child, loose their edge due to time and my own stupid insensitivity. Yet, God uses the words of a man to remind me of His infinite love. to remind me, that He is enough and i don't need the earthly possessions i'm so preoccupied with today.

Hopefully, i will stand as convicted & content tomorrow as i feel today.
"I ask no more, complete in Thee."
